Ahoy!

Primary 2a have started their new topic on Pirates. The children have been really engaged in the topic so far. We have been learning about famous pirates such as Blackbeard and Anne Bonny.


 We have been researching some pirate facts such as.... Pirates believed that whistling would cause a storm. There have been opportunities for the children to become pirates in drama time. 


We recreated some Pirate treasure maps. We tea stained paper and then created a treasure map showing where x marked the spot. The children decided to add in things like islands, palm trees, volcanoes and mountains in their maps. 




We are now looking forward to learning about ship building on the Cylde, the life of a pirate and hopefully going on our school trip to learn more about pirates.
