Hello from room 5

Term 2 has flown in for primary 2. We have been working very hard and learning lots of new and exciting things. 

In health and wellbeing we have been looking at the importance of washing our hands. We were very lucky to have the hand washing kit in room 5. The children got to put UV gel on their hands, they then had to wash their hands and put them under a UV light to check to make sure they had washed all of their hand. If there was gel still on the hand it flowed a blue colour, the hands did not glow if they had been washed correctly and all the gel had come off. All the children had great fun putting the gel on their hands and watching it glow. 

In maths we have been looking at 2D and 3D shapes. The children have been doing a lot of active games and activities to learn about these shapes. We are now able to talk about the faces, corners and edges of a 3D shape and can name them. The children really enjoyed building 3D shapes using spaghetti and marshmallows....whilst dressed up as their favourite book characters.

Primary 2a are now all looking forward to Christmas and all the fun activities that we will be doing. Keep checking back for our Christmas fun!
