The End Of Term 1 And The Start Of Term 2

We had a busy end to Term 1, learning all about Harvest for our RME topic.  We had a visit from Mr Hawthorne to help us learn even more about Harvest, and then P3 did an assembly all about it.  We helped by collecting tins and foods that could go to people who need it.  Miss Breslin was very proud of us for the amount we brought in.

For our end of term reward, we hads a visit from The Animal Man and all of his interesting animals.  We got the chance to see, hold and touch a variety of different animals.  We saw snakes, rats, rabbits, chickens, snails, mice, gerbils, frogs, ghekos and a tortoise.  We had such a fun time.

Some Primary 3's came in to work with us and they helped us learn about money.  They worked with us in groups to think of different ways to make given amounts.  We had so much fun, being 'taught' by P3s.

This Term, we have been learning about vertical addition and subtraction, or as Miss Breslin calls them, double decker sums and will be learning lots more fun and interesting things in maths.  We made autumn trees, using autumn colours and a range of materials.

We will also be doing a novel study about the story Six Dinner Sid and learning our nativity songs for the Chrsitmas Concert.
